Interoperability and PLM… A Future Vision
Mark E. Van Horne
Associate Technical Fellow
Boeing Commercial Airplanes
The PLM paradigm is way more than just a CAD product. PLM includes, in addition to the CAD data, resource data, manufacturing data, and the integration of products, processes, and resources. The interoperability industry must expand its focus to include process and resource data and address the interoperability and integration issues of a much broader and more complex problem that addresses the entire PLM spectrum. Mark is not going to offer a prescription for an answer, but he will paint a future vision, frame at least the big issues and ask some provocative questions to stimulate thought.
