Travel Information
Fly into Denver International Airport. From DIA, you'll need to rent a car or take a shuttle bus. It's about a 1 1/2 hour drive between the airport and the event hotel.
A good option for a shuttle is the Estes Park Shuttle. Contact them at 970-577-5151.
It's approximately a 1/2 mile walk from the conference center and hotel to downtown Estes Park, so a car is not required to explore this interesting alpine village.
Renting a car gives you the option of exploring the wonderful area around Estes Park, such as Rocky Mountain National Park.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: If you rent a car, you first need to get from the rental car pickup location to Interstate Highway 25. After you get your rental car, drive west and follow signs for E-470 (toll road) - just a mile or so. It takes you directly to I-25. The nicest and easiest route to Estes Park is to travel north on I-25 to the Loveland/Greeley Exit (Highway 34) - it's about 40 miles - and get off going west (toward the mountains). This road goes through Loveland, into the Big Thompson River canyon (breathtakingly beautiful), and directly to Estes Park (about 30 miles - uphill!). You could return south from Estes Park on Highway 66, through Lyons and optionally Boulder, if you have time when you return to the airport.
Weather Tip
As with any high-altitude/mountain climate, the temperature can change dramatically between day and night. You are strongly advised to bring sweaters/jackets for evenings outdoors. And if you plan to visit the National Park, you will want to bring a heavier coat along with you. The highest altitude roads in the park do not even open until the last weekend in May due to snow.
